  • Determine the components and where applicable, individual work stations of a tamping machine
  • Understand the purpose and associated risks of components and work stations
  • Identify the basic functions of the Tamping Machine in relation to constructing and maintaining the track to the required track geometry
  • Identify hazards and risks associated with tamping machine operations
  • Understand ballast profile standards and basic track geometry and terminology.
