At the successful completion of this course you will be able to:

• Interpret and apply the applicable safeworking rules and protocols
• Recognise and report unsafe situations
• Follow safeworking instructions and procedures
• Take appropriate safety precautions
• Follow workplace procedures for hazard identification and risk control
• Contribute to the arrangements for the management of occupational health and safety
• Complete occupational health and safety records/documentation
• Determine the WH&S related action that must take place before any work commences
• OHS legislation and representation in the workplace
• Assess the risks associated with manual handling activities
• Employer and employee obligations for OHS
• John Holland’s safe system of work
• Identify safeworking rules and regulations that must be followed when working on John Holland rail project
• Identify communication methods that contribute to safeworking on the job.
